Ms. Guinevere King

Guinevere King is an accomplished singer/songwriter from Southern California and is inspired by the smoky vibes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall and Sade to the soulful sounds of Bill Withers, Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Stevie Wonder.

She has a passion for sailing the ocean and is the owner of a successful Photo/Video Production Company in Newport Beach, CA.

Guinevere was born with a rich musical heritage dating back to the Dust Bowl Era when her Great-Grandfather formed an original folk band with his wife and children called “The King Family Orchestra.” As they traveled across the country from Arkansas to California in search of migrant work, they were discovered by a Hollywood talent scout and were cast in the 1939 John Steinbeck film “The Grapes of Wrath.” They were later inducted into the Library of Congress for their historical folk music.

Her Grandmother’s side of the family were successful jazz musicians and influenced her father and his siblings to become successful in the music business as well. While her dad played amazing jazz guitar, Guinevere grew up singing 4-part harmonies with her three siblings at epic family gatherings that spanned the generations and became infamous in the Coachella Valley.

Music and singing has always been food for her soul. She studied music and voice all  throughout her early years and recorded national radio commercial jingles as early as 10 years old. In high school she was a featured vocalist in various ensembles and was the lead in numerous musical productions including the powerful role of Annie in “Annie Get Your Gun.”

She continued her music studies at Westmont College in Santa Barbara and later moved to Los Angeles to form her own rock band and pursue a career singing, writing and recording original music. While in Hollywood, she recorded and co-produced an album at the Record Plant Recording Studios which was released to critical acclaim.  Performances at The Viper Room, The Whiskey-a-Go-Go, The Roxy, and The Troubadour led to a west coast tour and songs on independent film soundtracks.

Guinevere’s music career came full circle when she had an opportunity to sing and perform with her uncles Ronnie King and John Stanley King in the Palm Springs area and discovered her love for jazz. She enjoyed performing for spirited crowds at numerous weddings, private parties and corporate events including opening for KC and the Sunshine band on New Year’s Eve.

Guinevere’s future goals are to record an album of original music inspired by life on the ocean and to perform as many shows with Grand Daddy Jack as possible.

"I’m so excited to be working with the amazingly talented musicians in Grand Daddy Jack,” she says.  “Not only is everyone super skilled and experienced in their craft, but we all genuinely have fun playing together and push each other to be better musicians.”

As the great Ella Fitzgerald once said: “The only thing better than singing is more singing.”
